Weepers of the Land’ is a weird album, in the sense that the band considers it a companion record to the 2017 ‘Le Passage des Glaciers’. It is the third full-length record for the Canadian band but could be called an EP perhaps due to its connective nature. Norilsk is the northernmost ‘big’ city on our globe (in Siberia), yet it is also a band consisting of Nicolas Miquelon (also known as bass player for e.g. Damnus, Mortör, Kintra and Outrage AD) and Nick Richter (drummer for bands like Damnus and Outrage AD). Hot on the heels of last year's Le passage des glaciers, Norilsk are back with another album clocking in at just over 32 minutes. Once again, they offer some slow and crushing doom metal with mostly death metal vocals, though they veer into slightly more accessible territory here and there.
