May 14, 2013Hypnotic Dirge Records has three album releases upcoming in June 2013 that will surely breathe life into the mid-season aural spectrum. Frigoris will bring forth catchy and atmospheric black metal with folk sensibilities, Nethermost will provide a short debut EP of early 90's early death-doom, and Galaktik Cancer Squad will push your mind to the cosmos with some trippy and aggressive mind-bending post-black metal! Because we believe in all three releases, we've created a special Summer 2013 black/doom metal pre-order pack in which you can order all three albums together for a lower price!
Of course, if you're only interested in one or two albums you can buy them individually as well.
All pre-orders of the album will receive the full album download immediately via email while they wait for their CD and therefore will be among the first to listen to the full albums since they will not be made public online until the official release dates! The CD's themselves will be shipping about a week prior to their release dates and are all shipped via airmail.
Some of these releases represent something quite new for Hypnotic Dirge, so it's exciting to maybe do something a little bit unexpected and also revert back a little bit to the black metal releases which have been absent on Hypnotic Dirge in a similar style since the Ov Hollowness album in Summer 2011 which shares some tendencies with Frigoris and Galaktik Cancer Squad in some respects.

Although founded as a Pagan/Black Metal band, Frigoris has steadily developed their sound since its foundation around head Dominik Winter in 2007 and now stands as a high-level atmospheric, melodic Black Metal band. The new record Wind is the current peak of this development and highlights Frigoris' ability in mixing ferocious black metal with acoustic guitars and folk sensibilities. The over fifty minute piece is filled with a surpassing emotional intensity that creates a bond between pure aggression and deep melancholy. The name Nethermost refers to the lowest point of existence and is also the name of the melodic death-doom band hailing from south Texas. Nethermost's debut EP release ¨Alpha,¨ a tribute to nature and the four elements paints a deep and obscure timelessness while offering up powerful and intense melodies and an overall rich atmosphere soaked in ambience and melancholy. Mid-paced melodic doom metal with an emphasis on atmosphere, a thick bass sound and deep vocals conjure up an honest organic sound rooted in the mid-90's death-doom sound. From the vacuous depths of space, the great pathogenic force of Galaktik Cancer Squad will once again return to haunt the aural realms of the earth with their first ever physical release, ‘Ghost Light.’ An ambitious one-man project from Germany, Galaktik Cancer Squad was formed by Arwohn in 2011 and has to the point before Ghost Light released four albums digitally.
