Kings Rot was formed in 2017 in the frozen rockies of Alberta, Canada, amidst dark skies and snow capped mountains. A three piece band since its inception, Kings Rot has always focused on capturing the aura of traditional black metal with an emphasis on riffs and melody rather than lengthy atmospheric flourishes.

Kings Rot wasted no time to release music following their founding, coming out with a Demo album in 2017 and then a debut EP the following year in 2018. A new demo was released in 2019 which included a couple tracks which would eventually make it to their first full-length release “The Shadow of the Accursed” self-released in 2021.

Now in 2023, Kings Rot prepares to release their sophomore album “At the Gates of Adversarial Darkness” - the pinnacle of their sound thus far - coming out on Hypnotic Dirge Records on CD/Digital September 22, 2023, to be followed by a vinyl edition in early 2024.
