If you're into today's review of the name In My Shiver heard at all with it not worry about it. I'm doing quite similarly, since I first heard about it when I got to review its promo. And I can tell you that when I learned that this band is originally from Italy, I began to have pretty serious doubts about what it will be welcome, because lately I have with Italy a few ... not quite a good experience. In stark terms, it was usually either gray average, or just regular waste, at least as far as power metal. However, this is for In My Shiver does not apply - the year's novelty is definitely not pouhpouhý average and if you have (post-) black metal or shoegaze and post-rock in your favorite genres, you should now have your eyes open and read on.
Although the band itself says something to the effect that plays experimental post-black, which blends the shoegaze and fro and post-rock. When you throw caskets experimental, so you get a fairly accurate picture of what is In My Shiver attempts and what they are doing and quite successfully. Personally, I do not understand a bit where they take the courage not claim that they play experimental music due to the fact that this is definitely not an experimental one whit - but with this nuisance, I recently met several times, and these Italians are certainly not the only ones who would velkohubost rebuked. But nothing to change the fact that the trio of musicians led by singer / guitarist / drummer MKh979 (drums only programs) trying to find his own face reflected a certain amount of originality.
And I must say that this band is doing quite well. Not that there was anything overly objevného you have not yet, or something unrivaled genius, such as the need Neigeho already dead Amesoeurs . But still it is a very good material, which is admittedly much more (post-) Blacks than blackgazový or shoegazový. Music as such works quite well - Black's second helping mingle with melancholic post-rock moods. Do It sometimes add both the above Strip, although they are incorporated into the whole structure quite inconspicuous than a direct manifestation of the influence comes to tint this or that song. The songs themselves extra hold together despite broadminded area that is not under six minutes, which take off - even in the longest opening song "Closed View" . My favorite is the fourth then "Into the Grey Line" , which excels mainly in rhythmic central passage, where a little reminder of the eponymous act Amesoeurs .
If I had any outright criticism will be directed to the vocals. Main řvoun MKh979 appears to care about harsh vocals, which is still pretty cool and too intrusive. There's no extra class, it could be better and more emotional and deep, but still this is nothing compared to negative net vocals. I do not know who the band is in charge of it, but that's a fake voice I heard, perhaps even in the worst Italian power metal, with whom I've had the honor. This is really drift that can destroy or otherwise exposed pretty song and melancholic atmosphere. And unfortunately, although harsh vocals are represented on the board much more, no clean vocals are not spared and a good half of the songs can reliably kill some passages - in fact the only song where the vocals sounds really good, is a short passage in the aforementioned "Closed View" . Conversely, in such a 'Drain' man suffers serious for a moment.
The very instrumental component then sometimes suffer from noise. In principle, production and post-production is not bad, but sometimes drums are too flat and bland. Bass could be generally more pronounced the greater part of the album I think um mysterious person acting under the name Lux Occulta comes quite in vain. Given that it was the second plate and not a debut, I expected a little better quality output. When we leave the sound that suffers from ailments, but still not the worst, it is still not completely mastered vocal page that acts as a poison, but not nearly as delicate as the name of the album. It is quite unfortunate that due to the disadvantages for me the band has somewhat nafrněným impression, which itself fails to live up to. So even though the music page itself is really good, "Delicate Poison" despite clear above average more than six and a half points gained.
