Dødsferd are an Underground force, a super active band who without getting the publicity they deserve (probably they don’t even care about it) generously offer top quality music and countless releases. Active since 2003, they have managed in 21 years to release 12 full length albums (!!!) with the last one entitled “Wrath”.

What makes ‘Wrath’ better than the band’s previous efforts? Actually nothing, because quite simply the band has been playing for many years at a very high level and the only thing they have to do is to maintain the top notch quality at the high standards that they have set on their own and yes glory to Lord Jesus (or the Devil, whichever you prefer) the band does it again. “Restoration of Justice” (an epic black metal anthem, with a great main riff), “Decay of Sanity”, “Spiritual Lethargy” are in my personal opinion the best songs on the record, while on the vinyl version we find “Back to my Homeland” as a bonus ” in a 13-minute run!!!

On the “Skotos” EP (2021 via Transcending Obscurity Records) there was a possibly original version of the track and here we have a different performance? A sequel? I really don’t know and the truth is it’s enough for me that it’s great and I enjoy it. Here we also hear some Hip hop style Beat, which although what I’m saying may sound crazy to you, the band manages to place it so well in its darkness that everything looks and flows smoothly. The durations of the songs are mostly long (“Raging Lust of Creation” exceeds 10 minutes) but the interest remains undiminished throughout the album.

A beautiful artwork cover and a convincing production complete an overall remarkable record that makes us proud of the (high) level the Greek scene is at.
