Ah, the devilish beauty of pure evil in the form of Metal music. The wonders of the raw rage delivered by a multifaceted band as Dødsferd, a band whose career is so initiated in the black arts. A band we had the honor and pleasure to check out how versatile it can be with experimental albums as “Asphyxiating Late Night Sessions” or “Suicide and the Rest of Your Kind Will Follow II.” Or as one of the most important milestones of the Second Wave of Black Metal of “Skotos.” The impression the initial moments “Restoration of Justice” had on me I can’t tell. A track that commences so many touches of Venom with that insane, and simple, drumming inviting the fan to headbang. The beauty of the speed of light velocity here with the Blackened Speed Metal slants is blatant. So is the album. If I may, one contundent candidate for album of the year.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but when I hear an album like “Wrath” I feel such emotion that is hard to describe in words. Very few songs had this effect on me. One of the was Slayer’s “Evil Has No Boundaries.” The vibe is just about the same, if you know what I mean. After listening all the album I feel the speed of tracks as “Heaven Drops With Human Filth” do make a difference. To some extent, as far as I understand Black Metal, it has to be fast as hell. Of course, my understanding of Black Metal isn’t much, but this track is really something remarkable. As all the album. And then comes the blasting “Failure Αblaze in Υour Εxistence” with its Motörhead taste in the drumming. Venom and Motörhead homages in the same album! Can it get better?

I praise the raw energy that comes from “Wrath,” an album which honors its tittle. I also praise the varied and so technical drumming. My dear child of the night might experience such a thrill in each track. It’s such a pitty the name of the drummer wasn’t revealed. Such a pity. The drumming gave this album its astonishing grip adding to it some violence and force – such as Exciter’s “Violence & Force” used to do. Highly recommended album. Both, I mean, “Wrath” and Exciter’s.

Dødsferd are an Underground force, a super active band who without getting the publicity they deserve (probably they don’t even care about it) generously offer top quality music and countless releases. Active since 2003, they have managed in 21 years to release 12 full length albums (!!!) with the last one entitled “Wrath”.

What makes ‘Wrath’ better than the band’s previous efforts? Actually nothing, because quite simply the ba...

We’ll begin with the first two songs you can now hear from Wrath, the forthcoming 12th album by Dødsferd. The album’s title shares the name of the band’s founder and also describes the emotional energy that fuels much of the music.

“Restoration of Justice” opens the album in a blaze — layered guitars deliriously whirling, the bass thundering, the vocals scalding, and the drums delivering a furious barrage. It’s like being ...

Named after the band’s founder, thematically, Wrath “carries in its wake a vigorous indictment of the social and economic consequences of capitalism, political corruption, ecocide, and the largest argument against our civility, warfare.”

It’s also a crushingly good chunk of Black Metal.

For this release, Wrath is joined by N.D. of Greek Black Metal band Sørgelig as guest drummer, who also played on Suicide and the Rest of Your Kind Wi...

Hailing from Greece, today we have the sinister Dødsferd and their latest opus “Wrath”. Featuring ten tracks and nearly one hour of crushing Black Metal, this band shows the listener no mercy with their high-octane tracks and fierce sound. Highly recommended for purists of the genre, this album packs a lot of punch and shows that the band means business.

Waiting no time to establish a pummeling atmosphere, “Restorat...

I have been on hiatus for a little over three months now! I have not felt the urge or desire to write about anything this past few months, but when 𝗪𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵 sent me the latest offering from his band 𝗗ø𝗱𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗱, I gave it a listen and I immediately felt compelled to write a review about said release!

After the release of 𝗗ø𝗱𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗱’s masterpiece, “𝗦𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗮...

Given all that has been accomplished within the vast reaches of black metal in the decades since its inception, it has become exceedingly obvious that there are still more than a few old bastions of that classic vein that are able to deliver the goods on such a level that leaves the mind utterly bewildered. There’s a solid list of names that we can sift through when it comes to reliability, consistency, and quality when it comes...
